Global Learning

Knowsley Village pupils work towards the Global Learners Award.  Pupils work towards achieving their Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum Passports.  Our recent awards ceremony at Knowsley Park Centre for Learning was a huge success.

The 1st Annual Global Awards took place on Thursday 18th April 2013, with Knowsley Village picking up no less than 7 awards!   Along with Evelyn and Whiston Willis Primary Schools, Knowsley Village have been completing their award since September. Global lessons are taught every week throughout the school, with children learning a  variety of subjects from recycling to finding out about far away countries. The whole school created a poppy wreath, which was laid on the cenotaph in the village, and Year 5/6 have even written a letter to the Prime Minister – David Cameron- explaining their rights, he hasn’t got back to us yet though!

Two children were selected to collect the award on behalf of their class and represented our school very proudly!! They learnt a song called‘Make someone happy’ and there were smiles all round as all schools came together for the first time to sing, it sounded fantastic!

The children took the awards back to school and Mrs Barlow showed them at assembly for all children to see. The trophies are proudly placed in each classroom along with their certificate to remind the children how hard they have worked.

Mrs Barlow and Mrs Coates are really proud of all children in Knowsley Village and can’t wait to go again.
