The children have settled into Year 3 quickly and are developing their ‘Growth Mindset’ ready to become more independent learners.

Year 3 have been exploring the world of Ancient Greece and designing masks of their favourite Greek Gods. The overwhelming favourite so far, is Zeus, a great warrior and God of Lightening!

In English the children have been writing letters based on ‘The Day the Crayons Quit’ and stories based on ‘I’ll Take You To Mrs Cole’. There are some wonderful, talented writers in Year 3 with some brilliant handwriting. Ms Rowe hopes to share some of the children’s incredible work with you online soon.…/year_3_autumn.pdf

Year 3 are using Rock Star Times tables to revise and test their multiplication and division facts and they love it! We already have some ‘Wannabes’ and ‘Garage Rockers’ in our midst! Please ask the children if you would like to know more, they are experts!

 Key Information:

  • PE Day is Tuesday
  • Homework is set on Friday and is due in by the following Wednesday
  • The children are given spellings and times tables to learn each week
  • The children are tested on spellings, times tables and number bonds every week. Spellings and times tables are usually set on Monday for tests on Friday.
