Computing

Knowsley Village Community School is a small school with a big vision. Our mission is to provide an excellent computing education that equips students with the necessary skills and knowledge to thrive safely in the digital age. We aim to inspire creativity, logical thinking, and problem-solving abilities in our students. We have interactive TV screens in every class and a wide range of technologies available, including laptops, e-books and iPads.  Through rapid advances in technologies we like to update our resources, most recently introducing robots ‘Dot & Dash’ and we regularly refresh the latest learning apps. Our dedicated Digital Leaders help to support the curriculum offering relevant advice, innovative feedback and guidance.

Our curriculum is aligned with the National Curriculum with a focus on Digital Productivity, Digital Creativity, Computing and Digital Citizenship (inc E-safety).  Discrete lessons are delivered using the latest Barefoot Computing resources. You can explore more about these resources on the Barefoot Computing website.  Our school curriculum also incorporates many cross curricular opportunities for learners to apply their skills.  We also have planned innovative workshops facilitated by Knowsley City Learning Centre.
